Business Development Consultant (BDC)

8/18- Present

Boston, MA

A traditional sales role, I was tasked with initiating and facilitating large scale technological conversations with enterprise-sized corporations. This included orchestrating dozens of Oracle resources and ensuring they aligned with the customer's needs.

Drawing from my Communication Degree, I quickly made a reputation on the floor as being a hard charger on the phone, winning my organization's "Objection Handling" award out of 110+ reps. This was after securing a deal with a client that took 28 touchpoints to initially contact. I found great pride in my success with traditional cold calls, an area many of my peers would shy away from. I was rewarded with a promotion to a closing role six months into the one year program.

Compete Applications Group (CAG)

Account Executive    Current Role

Switching to selling the Oracle back-office suite, I joined CAG as an account executive to hunt for competitor's customers that were unhappy and ripe for the taking. This strategic form of selling to large scale companies required a massive amount of research and careful planning with my virtual team.

The dozens of nuances involved when you "Rip and Replace" a financial system tested my skills as a salesman. During this time I saw the importance of clear communication, setting expectations, and basic trust-building when working with clients.

In the meantime, I joined the board of Oracle's Toastmasters division as the VP of Membership. Speaking regularly myself, I helped many new members craft their first speech and grew attendance from 18 to 32 regular attendees.

Speaking at Toastmaster's annual "Table Topics" competition where I earned first prize.

National United Wrestling Association for Youth: Is an organization that supports state wrestling associations at the grass roots level all the way up to collegiate level. NUWAY sponsors events at the grade school, junior high, & high school level with local, state, & national events.

NUWAY was one of the first organizations to offer a wrestling tournament that was completely paperless. Two other technicians and I were tasked with making sure this online system remained up and running while providing live streams from 23 mats. The NUWAY NY State Tournament (featured on left) had over 700 wrestlers compete over two days, every match being live streamed. Numerous times we were faced with never before seen problems that if gone unfixed would result in hundreds of angry parents. This taught me how to think on my feet and required a lot of teamwork, trouble shooting, and coffee.

Working for Southern Tier Balloon Tours is the greatest job imaginable. I assisted in take-offs and landings as well as managing social media accounts.

Offering daily balloon flights in the Finger Lakes and Southern Tier region of New York!

Stickers, new logo, and working with local businesses are just some of the awesome projects I got to work on during my time with STB!

Communication Student Advisory Board (CSAB)

CSAB works to create events within the department to help students succeed during and after their time at Cornell.

3/16-5/18

New Student Comm Connect (above) was an event for incoming freshman to meet their peers, upperclassman, and professors. We also hold informal "Coffee Chats" that give students an opportunity to meet distinguished Alumni to learn about life after Cornell. Our newest and most recent installment is our Pre-Enroll Panel (below) where students can workshop their schedules for the upcoming semester.

My personal favorite event we do is our annual Study Break Skate. Communication students are given the opportunity to cross one of the 161 things to do at Cornell and skate at Lynah Rink alongside their peers and professors.

Snack: Noun Or Verb?

A short film documentary, Snack: Noun or Verb? follows the inspiration, creation, and implementation of Big Red Refuel. A protein fortified chocolate milk, Big Red Refuel aims to provide athletes with the necessary nutrients to fuel their rigorous performance.

Sports Commentary

My first gig with 1160 ESPN started because their usual color commentator was sick with the flu and they were desperate. I've now commentated dozens of matches and aim to bring an energetic and unique broadcast to viewers.
